This morning, I hosted a brunch. I made quiche-- broccoli cheddar and sundried tomato goat cheese. I used the Joy of Cooking recipe. Alex brought a delicious salad, Maddie banana bread, and Liz and Marko brought coffee cake. You guys should post your recipes in the comments (om nom nom.) My rosemary tree is pictured below.
Happy Holidays, y'all!

I have to admit that I get much of my baking from Smitten Kitchen, because baking sans recipes would be a disaster for me. Coffee cake here: http://smittenkitchen.com/2008/12/cranberry-vanilla-coffee-cake/. The recipe calls for a ton of sugar. When I make it with cranberries, I cut the total sugar by about a third. When I make it with strawberries or raspberries, I probably use about half the sugar. And the batter is very thick, so the top layer has to be kind of gently spooned on. Thank you for brunch, Suzanne! I really loved the sundried tomato quiche.
the rosemary tree is ADORABLE!!
PS, i'm currently stalking your blog for something yummy to make for dinner. :)
I'm so jealous of the rosemary tree! There is no christmas spirit in my apartment in oakland.
I went to the berkeley whole foods and joyfully asked "where are the adorable rosemary christmas trees???". They looked at me like I was insane or something. Apparently not every whole foods carries the exact same inventory (duh). I really want to find a fricking rosemary tree!!!
Jo, I bet we could talk Reeves into buying a tree when we come out. They'd be really cheap by Christmas day.
